POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

PHOTO POLICY: 

The North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to take photos of participants enrolled in programs or those attending a parks and recreation event.  These photos are to be used strictly by the Parks and Recreation Department for the purpose of the advertising in future brochures, catalogs, pamphlets, fliers and on the city web page.  Organizations, including media relations, must have permission from the Parks and Recreation Director or Program Supervisor prior to taking photographs.

REFUND POLICY: 

It is our policy to provide an opportunity for as many people as possible to enjoy our parks and recreation opportunities.  Therefore, The City of North Ridgeville, Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel, postpone or combine classes, events or programs, or change instructors in order to provide the best service possible.  North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation will consider refunds for programs, rentals, etc. under the following circumstances.
 
1.  If the Department of Parks and Recreation cancels a program the individual will receive a full refund.
 
2.  Patrons requesting a refund must contact the Parks and Recreation Department so the appropriate form can be filled out.
 
3.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for your refund to be processed if original payment was made by check or cash.
 
4.  Please allow 24-48 hours for your refund to be processed if original payment was made by credit or debit card. 
  
5.  Program fees are not refunded/prorated for participants who miss portions of programs.
 
6.  Refund requests for programs or classes must be made 2 business days before the class or program begins.
 
7. Refunds for medical reasons must be requested within 10 days following completion of the program or activity and a doctor's note will be required.
 
8. North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to review these procedures and administer refunds in the best interest of the participants and by generally approved accounting procedures. 
 
 
PROGRAM CANCELLATION:

The North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any activity, program or event based on insufficient registrations, supervision or facilities.  All activities, programs or events will either be rescheduled or fees refunded. 

All classes have a minimum number of participants in order to be conducted.  If a class minimum is not met by the deadline date, an activity is canceled.  Please register at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the activity.
 
WINTER WEATHER POLICY:
 
During inclement weather North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation and its programs/classes will maintain normal operating hours unless directed otherwise by management and as long as instructors and staff are available.  If a decision is made to cancel programs / classes or to close the office we will post it on the Park and Recreation Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/northridgevilleparksandrec), weather hotline (440-210-6226) and on the department's website as soon as possible.  Although we strive to give early notice of cancellations, various circumstances could affect our ability to notify the public in a timely manner.  We only provide updates when cancellations have been made.

ONLINE REGISTRATION:

If you are a first time user you will need to create your own account by clicking on the register button.  After you have registered your household you will be able to go and select what program you want to participate in.  Please feel free to contact us for technical support or any other question you have about the online registration.
IF YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN YOUR USER NAME OR PASSWORD, PLEASE DO NOT CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT!  CONTACT NRPRD AND WE WILL RETRIEVE THE INFORMATION.  THIS WILL KEEP ALL PAYMENT HISTORIES TOGETHER.

 
HEAT INDEX GUIDELINES
 
North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation has implemented the following guidelines to deal with extreme heat at all YOUTH SPORTS games and practices.  It is designed to provide coaches, parents, and participants with a standard for safe play in situations of extreme heat.
 
NRPRD has adopted the recommended guidelines by the American College of Sports Medicine for participation in sports activities during periods of extreme heat.

NRPRD YOUTH FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Youth Fee Assistance Program is designed to provide families of the City of North Ridgeville an opportunity to get their children involved in fun, enjoyable, quality programs that they may not be able to afford without assistance.  These activities help provide children with safe outlets for fun, creativity, socialization, play and learning.  The information requested below is confidential and is necessary to help determine the degree of need for each applicant.  All information must be completed or the application will be returned unaccepted.  A separate application is required for multiple scholarships (each participant and each activity).
